"RING" Prototype Rules

Safari Time!
Concept Statement: Patience is half the Hunt
Theme: Safari Animals
Great for Teaching young kids to read, spell and match!

The simple pictures of safari animals allow for images that even young children can understand and easily match to basic words and rhymes. It creates a lighthearted atmosphere for any simple tabletop
game.

For my game ring, I designed a rough draft of the game rules.
 1. Players shuffle the deck of matching card and lay them out in a 3 by five grid with the slap card, or bell in the middle
2. Player try to match cards based on 1 of three way, similar colors, number of letters or rhymes
3. Players must match 3 to 4 cards, but the card type, being, a color, word number and letter or picture must be all consistent or all different
4. If someone slaps without a match, they must put the top three of their pile into the new deck and shuffle
5. If someone has a match of 3 or more the player must slap the center piece and declare their match and how it works, if someone see a way to build off of or "steal their match" they can slap as long as they do so before the other finishes and then steal their points.
6. The player with the most cards at the end of the game wins
7. If at any point their seems to be no matches out, players can unanimously decide for more cards in which case the dealer lays out 3 more cards onto the board and then passes the deck clockwise to the next dealer.
8. Every time a match is taken the dealer must replenish the card pool and then pass the deck

The basic strategies of this game can help to even teach young kids patience, for when a player keeps his or her eye on a select few cards, it is possible to build off another's initial haste or success in order to create larger match. In addition, if a player doesn't have patience and doesn't thoroughly think through their decisions and calls, they may cost themselves points in the end game by putting matches back.
